Harlan E.M.S.Inc. provides emergency medical care to all of Harlan County. Harlan County is a large rural & mountainous area that is located in southeastern KY along the VA border. Our county is approx. 465 square miles with more than 100 small communities and home to over 30,000 residents. Due to it's location, mountainous terrain and growing ATV population transport times may be more than 45 minutes. Consequently medical protocols have been written to accommodate patients requiring longer transport times to the Harlan Appalachian Regional Hospital.
We started our company in September of 2004 with the goal
of giving back to the community that we call home. We started
with one ambulance and our faith in God. Today our family has
grown to include
+ 11 EMT-Paramedics
+ 25 EMT-Basics
+ 9 Emergency Dispatchers &
+ 6 fully operational ambulances
We plan to continue growing (with the speed of technology that rapidly arises in medicine) with more EMT's, dispatchers and ambulances. We offer
